“Many of the most important stories in our world are the ones that almost disappear.” Jerry Leggett

Meet Jerry

Jerry Douglas Leggett is a singer-songwriter and peace advocate whose work lives at the intersection of music, story, and human connection.

For more than four decades, he has traveled the country as a “Peace Troubadour,” creating spaces where people can pause, listen, and remember themselves in the presence of one another. His songs and storytelling have helped raise support for humanitarian causes, but more than that, they’ve opened doors—for reflection, for empathy, and for the quiet work of finding our way back to each other.

Since 2016, Jerry has served as the Executive Director and founder of the Storytrail Foundation and creator of Storytrail Garden in Tubac, Arizona—a place built around a simple idea: many of the most important stories in our world are the ones that almost disappear. There, and in communities beyond, he lifts up the lives of everyday “Peace Heroes”—people whose courage and compassion often go unnoticed.

For a season of his life, he served on the front lines of crisis response in Hawaiʻi, supporting individuals and families in moments of acute need. That experience continues to shape the way he shows up—with a deep respect for the unseen burdens people carry, and a commitment to creating spaces that feel human, grounded, and safe enough for real listening.

He is the creator and lead performer of Hope Beyond Borders: Finding Our Way Back to Each Other—an emerging concert and storytelling experience that brings people together across lines of difference. Each gathering becomes a kind of shared space… where stories are honored, where music opens something deeper, and where connection begins again.

At the heart of it all is a quiet invitation:
to listen more closely,
to make space for one another,
and to become an ally with the storyteller—
helping ensure that the stories which almost disappear are carried forward.
