Each gathering weaves Jerry’s songs and real-life stories with community voices—and, when possible, a locally formed Together We Community Choir. The result is more than a performance: it is a participatory experience that invites people to slow down, listen deeply, and begin finding their way back to one another.
What To Expect
A 75–90 minute musical journey weaving together original songs, storytelling, humor, and reflection

Every event is designed to feel personal—not simply something people attend, but something they help create and become part of.
Cost & Support
To make Singing Our Way Back to Each Other accessible to communities of many sizes, each event is shaped collaboratively and the budget remains flexible.
Costs may include:
Honoraria for the artists, musicians, storytellers, and choir leaders engaged in the event
Jerry Leggett’s participation, when requested
Travel support, such as mileage reimbursement or a modest travel stipend
Simple lodging when an overnight stay is required
Local production, rehearsal, or promotional expenses
We hope communities across the country will involve local artists, musicians, storytellers, and choral voices in creating an experience that reflects the character and gifts of their own community.
Host organizations often offset expenses through ticket sales, donations, community sponsorships, grants, or partnerships with local organizations.
We will work with each community to develop a realistic approach and will do our best to ensure that limited financial resources do not prevent a meaningful gathering from taking place.
No community will be turned away for lack of funds.
What You’ll Need
Each community experience is created locally, with guidance and resources from the national Singing Our Way Back to Each Other initiative.
Helpful ingredients include:
A welcoming venue or gathering space
A local host organization or coordinating team
Basic promotion through community networks and partner organizations
A simple sound system appropriate for the space
Local artists, musicians, storytellers, or community voices
A choir director or song leader who can help gather singers and lead rehearsals
An existing choir—or a newly formed Together We Community Choir open to singers from across the community
Rehearsal space and time for singers to learn the music using the provided scores, lyrics, and voice-part practice tracks
A local community hero, organization, or story to recognize, when appropriate
One goal of the national initiative is to help communities establish Together We Community Choirs—welcoming, intergenerational groups formed around the belief that every voice matters. These choirs may gather for a single event, continue singing together, or become part of future community experiences.
You do not need a professional choir or a large production. Begin with the people, voices, stories, and resources already present in your community—and build from there.

Community Choir Option
In some communities, local choirs or vocal groups join the program, creating a shared musical experience that deepens connection and engagement.
Jerry can provide original songs with SATB choral arrangements in advance for rehearsal and performance.
